Scene One
EXT. - THE MILLPOND VALLEY - DAY
This scene shows some fast, short flashback scenes of 3000 years ago. It shows the scenes of peaceful Millpond Valley and the scene of people cooperating each other.

EXT. - THE MILLPOND VALLEY - NIGHT
Flashback of 3000 years ago in Millpond Valley.

MONTAGE – 3000 YEARS AGO, IN MILLPOND VALLEY
- Darkness is everywhere; the sky is thick with rising smoke.

- There is a war and a rebellion. Human general and humans with other people in Millpond Valley battle a blood fight.

WOMAN’S VOICE (VO)
Rebellion in peace- Darkness comes to shed, light ends to dead. This is no longer it used to be. Darkness will rule until they return-

QUEEN ELFADORA, a beautiful ruling elf of the Millpond Valley. She was a good ruler that time, but she changes to an evil enemy of her people because of her love.

MONTAGE - QUEEN ELFADORA’S BETRAYAL
- Queen Elfadora dashes to the hidden heart of the Millpond Valley. Her pretty gown flaps wildly and busily as she rushes.

- She steals the crystal prism.

WOMAN’S VOICE (CONT’D) (VO)
By the death of one human the ruler betrays. Darkness forever; it will never end.

MONTAGE – THE DEATH OF HUMAN GENERAL
- One general (you can not see his face in this scene) kills the HUMAN GENERAL, who is quite good looking but is very foolish that led to the end of the peace of the Millpond Valley.

- Queen Elfadora, grinning in watery eyes in sadness and anger, draws her darkness out and with her poisoned darkish color, pollutes the crystal prism.

- All the colors separate and humans are exiled.

EXT. – THE MILLPOND VALLEY & IN A CITY - DAY
Flashback of time after all the Humans are exiled from Millpond Valley.

Exiled Humans create a dark, smoky world. They forget about Millpond Valley and the existence of other creature race.

WOMAN’S VOICE (CONT’D) (VO)
The moment union comes, shall the everlasting unity form. They must come back…
(echo)




Scene Four
EXT. - AT THE SCHOOL - DAY
CARLOS TAYMER, a Hispanic boy whose parents were divorced when he was young. Because of his weak body, he is bullied a lot. He doesn’t trust people very much.

Carlos is being bullied, coughs of bronchial asthma after that.

Scene Five
INT. - AT HOME - DAY
Carlos and MOM, who is a beautiful woman in early 40s, just move to Carlos’s STEP DAD’s house in a very modernized, dirty city.

Carlos gets home from school and coughs. His mother is getting ready for her wedding which is held on evening.

Scene Six
EXT. - AT THE HOTEL - DAY
Mom’s wedding is at an expensive hotel. Carlos and MACKENZIE, a plain white 10-year-old girl, who is always enthusiastic, sit at the guest seat. Carlos keeps coughing while the wedding is held.

INT. - AT HOME – DAY
After few days, Carlos and his family are living in an apartment in a city. Carlos coughs while doing his homework from his new school.




CARLOS
(coughing)
Augh! I can’t- stop-
(cough)
Aw man, what’s wrong with me these days?

Carlos coughs his head off. Mom peeks in to his room, worried.

MOM
Carlos? Sweetie, are you okay?


CARLOS
No, I’m not. Ma, I hate this city. This place is full of smoke. And I have bronchial asthma. I barely breathe here. The stupid smoke is killing me! Jeez! I should ask Pa to move to the countryside.

MOM
I don’t know dear, his work is near here. He needs to be here to take care of his job.

CARLOS
Ma, your son is dying.

MOM
I’m sorry dear. You should ask him if you’re really dying for it… But I don’t think he will agree on your insist.


CARLOS
If he doesn’t, I’m leaving this place.

Mom goes out.

CARLOS
(Talking by himself)
This place is not where people should live in. It’s a hell! I gotta get out of here soon or I’ll die.

Mom calls to Dad, who is in his room, working.

MOM
Honey, your son wants to talk to you.

Carlos enters Dad’s room. A minute passed and Carlos thumps out from the room, pouting his lips with a sulky look in his face. Mom, at the kitchen, peeks at him slightly worried, and then sighs.

Scene Eight
INT. - AT HOME - DAY
Carlos is lost in thought for a while in his bed and Mackenzie looks at him secretly. After a while, Carlos springs out from bed and packs. Mackenzie tries to follow him. Carlos tries to stop her, but he can’t.



Scene Nine
INT. – AT HOME – DAY
Carlos and Mackenzie sneak out of their house secretly.

CARLOS
Now, I didn’t want you to come, and if you get caught, it’s not my fault. You have to promise me that you will do what I say. Okay?

MACKENZIE
Whatever brother.

CARLOS
Hey, the brother has a name.


MACKENZIE
Um… Yeah! I got it. Sorry Carlos. Forgot your name. I only know you few days. And I promise I would “Do as Carlos says”
(She runs away by herself, laughing)

CARLOS
Hey! stop!
(trying to catch her)
Stop going by yourself!

Carlos and Mackenzie run and they almost get seek by Mom who was coming from the grocery store. Mackenzie almost runs in to her, Carlos catches up and tugs Mackenzie under near bushes. He hides himself behind the bushes.


EXT. - IN THE MOUNTAIN - NIGHT
Carlos and Mackenzie clamber up the mountain in tiredness and it gets dark. When they are walking, Mackenzie almost trips over tree.

CARLOS
(panting)
Hey, better be careful.

MACKENZIE
(shaking dust off her knees)
Thanks.

CARLOS
It’s almost sun down. We should hurry.

MACKENZIE
Can’t we just stay here?

CARLOS
What?

MACKENZIE
I mean, it’s too dark and I’m tired.
(frustrated and irritably)

Carlos looks at the sky, around the mountain, and back to Mackenzie.


CARLOS
Okay. Let’s climb just a little bit more.

They sink down beneath a tree after climbing a little bit more. They eat food they brought and prepare for sleep. Suddenly, there is a bright light flashing from tree behind. They both scream “Aagh!” and look back to it in wonder.

CARLOS
What the?

Carlos goes toward to it more.

CARLOS
I think it came from that tree.

MACKENZIE
Look! I can’t believe it, it’s a unicorn.

CARLOS
Girls.
(sighing sympathetically)
You. Listen. There’s nothing like a unicorn.

MACKENZIE
(rather serious)
No there is. Unicorns do exist!

CARLOS
Yeah sure.
(smirking jokingly)
And how are you going to prove it? There’s no scientific or archeological evidence of it. If the unicorns EXIST, the dragons will too. Mackenzie, you’re old enough to believe in realistic things. You just have to know this: UNICORNS DO NOT EXIST.

MACKENZIE
Humph! Yea, I’ll show you sometime. I’m going to grow up to be a scientist who proves that there is a unicorn in the world and prove it to you that it’s not just a fantasy! I’m going to be the first person in the world to prove it!

CARLOS
Oh really? Or the dumbest person in the world, rather?


MACKENZIE
(ignoring, and speaking in herself)
I know there is. I just know. I have a feeling…

CARLOS
(wincing)
Hush! This is strange… I feel something weird.

MACKENZIE
Oooh. Now you feel a real dragon, huh?

CARLOS
Shut up.



A stronger, more colorful light flashes from the unicorn tree. Carlos and Mackenzie crouch in to the ground, surprised.

CARLOS
Let’s back off. I don’t feel good about this.

MACKENZIE
Okay…

She looks back at the unicorn tree, with lingering desire to climb it.

EXT. - AT THE MOUNTAIN - NIGHT
Five minutes passed, and Carlos and Mackenzie are resting. Mackenzie suddenly runs toward to the unicorn tree, trying to climb it.

CARLOS
Where are you going? Hey! Don’t…
(trying to stop Mackenzie, crying:)
…Don’t! Stop, Stay! I said Stay! Kenzie! Mackenzie stop!



Colorful beam of light swoosh from the tree, and swallows Mackenzie into it. Carlos is terrified. He doesn’t know where his sister is. He rushes to follow Mackenzie into the beam of light.


Scene Twelve
EXT. - IN FRONT OF THE UNICORN TREE - DAY
They wake up and ALFONSO, a tall, scary, and weird looking man like a half ogre and half giant pixie comes to them and takes them to the palace.

Scene Thirteen
INT. - AT THE PALACE - DAY
Carlos and Mackenzie meet QUEEN ELFADINE, who is Queen Elfadora’s twin sister. She looks slightly older for time has passed 3000 years.

QUEEN ELFADINE
Welcome to Millpond Valley, light seekers. It is grateful to meet you again.

Carlos and Mackenzie are confused.

CARLOS
Again? What do you mean? We’re just the first time here. Where the hell is this Millpond Valley? And what’s about the light what?

QUEEN ELFADINE
Our new light seekers don’t seem to remember. Don’t you think general?

ALFONSO
(bowing slightly, stiffly)
I’m sure your majesty.


QUEEN ELFADINE
Well, we’ll just need to work on this again. No light seekers remembered our beautiful Millpond Valley.

Very serene, very pleasantly, she looks at the floor, thinking. Only her long beautiful eyelashes are showing.

QUEEN ELFADINE (CONT’D)
It’s a shame.

CARLOS
Uh…

He looks around the scenery of Millpond Valley. Destroying the serious atmosphere in the grand hall in the palace, he shows his naive ness.

CARLOS
…You call this beautiful?

ALFONSO
How dare you speak ill to Queen Elfadine.











QUEEN ELFADINE
Enough of this Alfonso. It’s natural to be alert. They do not remember what happened 3000 years ago.
(to Carlos and Mackenzie)
It’s true, it is not a beauty anymore for Millpond Valley. Beauty can not be seen now. It has been lost for 3000 years. And you were our lost light keepers.

Carlos and Mackenzie seem not to understand this, and Queen Elfadine start’s here story. There are flashbacks and scenes that follows to woman’s voice.

WOMAN’S VOICE (VO)
There was a time when Millpond Valley was peaceful. Nothing could be more peaceful than it. In this land, there lived all different kinds of people. Ogres, Elves, different kind of fairies, different creatures, and Humans, too. There were no fight, no crime, and no murder. Everything was perfect.

Queen Elfadine speaks.







QUEEN ELFADINE
Except…
(glancing back to Alfonso)
…Except for one thing. There were six generals in total in the palace. But only one was Human, he who had no power. It was unfair to the Human General of having no power.

INT. - AT THE PALCE - DAY
Scene continues as the woman’s voice continues.

WOMAN’S VOICE (VO)
Humans were not granted a power for they had wisdom. But other general didn’t think wisdom was so crucial in life. Their only proud was their power. They ignored the Human general.

Flash back of Human general being left out and ignored.

INT. - AT THE PALACE – NIGHT

WOMAN’S VOICE (VO)
There lived a fair queen, beautiful as she can be. She loved one who was unfortunate.

Queen Elfadora tries to help him, and the human general finds the way to revenge. Alfonso sees this.


WOMAN’S VOICE (CONT’D) (VO)
It was he who was planning for revenge. She adored him, and she pleaded him.

EXT. - AT A VILLAGE – NIGHT
WOMAN’S VOICE (CONT’D) (VO)
Rebellion. It was the poison to the Millpond Valley. Betrayal. The end of the peace.

Flash back of Human General in front of human kind.

MONTAGE – REBELLION AND QUEEN ELFADORA’S BETRAYAL

- Rebellion starts; fire, smoke, dark cloud, everything dark. Queen Elfadora hurries to the heart of the Millpond Valley, stealing the crystal prism.

EXT. - AT THE WAR PLACE – NIGHT

Right after showing a) angry Human General, who holds his head up from his hands on his head, and b) the scene of rebellion and bloody war.

WOMAN’S VOICE (VO)
Anger. Revenge.

Alfonso fights the Human General and kills him.


SERIES OF SHOTS:


A) Alfonso watches Queen Elfadora and the Human General being together.

B) the scene of Alfonso killing the Human General.

WOMAN’S VOICE (VO)
Jealousy. Death.

Scene Eighteen
EXT. – IN THE DARK-QUEEN’S CAVE – NIGHT

SERIES OF SHOTS:

A) Queen Elfadora is angry.

B) Queen Elfadora pollutes the crystal prism.

WOMAN’S VOICE (VO)
Rage. Betrayal.

Colors separate. Humans exiled from Millpond Valley, and there are souls of dead Light Keepers wondering here and there.

WOMAN’S VOICE (CONT’D) (VO)
End of Peace. Missing parts.

Scene Nineteen
INT. - IN THE PALACE - DAY
Back to these days in Millpond Valley, Queen Elfadine finishes her story. Mackenzie is concentrates, but Carlos doesn’t seem to like the story. He looks the queen as a look of unbelief.

Scene Twenty
INT. - IN THE LIGHT SEEKERS’ ROOM - DAY
Carlos and Mackenzie are in the room of Light Seekers. Mackenzie thinks it is real, but not Carlos.

Scene Twenty-one
INT. - IN THE LIGHT SEEKERS’ ROOM - DAY
Alfonso is there and introduces. From the room of Light Holders, ROY, ARNOLD, and SANUYE, who is a native American girl of Miwok tribe, come in.

Scene Twenty-two
INT. - IN THE LIGHT SEEKERS’ ROOM - DAY
Carlos, Mackenzie talk to Roy, Arnold, and Sanuye. They talk about the stories, themselves. Now it sounds more believable, but Carlos is still doubtable and is trying look out.

Scene Twenty-three
EXT. - IN THE FOREST - DAY
The Light Holders take Carlos and Mackenzie to the forest with Alfonso.

Scene Twenty-four
EXT. - IN THE FOREST – DAY

MACKENZIE
Oh wow. Dandelions.

SANUYE
Yes, it is indeed.

MACKENZIE
It’s been so long since I last saw a dandelion. It was in my windowsill in my room when I was six years old. I could see it from my bed. It was my first and the last dandelion I’ve ever seen.

CARLOS
And you only saw it once saw it once because of your pa. I always saw it in the country side.

MACKENZIE
Don’t. Don’t say bad thing about Dad…
(Glancing at Carlos)
…And he’s also your dad. I couldn’t let it

SANUYE
I used to see those flowers when I was in my homeland.

Sanuye smiles at Carlos, and Carlos looks back at her with a short smile.

MACKENZIE
Anyway. I felt something when I saw that flower. Something like overwhelming. I don’t know why.




SANUYE
That’s because you saw a dandelion that went through all those harsh obstacles to find a place to sit and sprout its seed. And it landed on that small open gap on your windowsill and sprout to be a beautiful flower.

MACKENZIE
Oh! I think I feel that same feeling now.

SANUYE
Well then, I think you found your color.

Mackenzie is excited. She feels very proud.

Carlos feels green inside him by seeing leaves. Carlos starts to feel that it is real, but some things are still unaware to him.

Scene Twenty-Five
INT. - AT THE PALACE - DAY
Carlos and Mackenzie becomes Light Holders. The Light holders start to draw the colors with Alfonso’s help.

Scene Twenty-six
INT. - AT THE PALACE - DAY
At the palace, the queen and the generals are planning for a war.

EXT. - AT THE WAR PLACE - DAY
The war begins, all the Light Keepers and the Light Holders get ready for the war.

CARLOS
Mackenzie, don’t excess too much. You’re only ten years old.

MACKENZIE
Ha! When was it when you said I’m so old to believe in things like… fantasy?
(smiles)
Thanks, Carlos.

CARLOS
Okay. I’m sorry about the “fantasy-is-fake” thing.

All of the light holders enter the special front seat. Alfonso places aside them.

ALFONSO
(to all the light holders)
This war is for the Millpond Valley, for peace, for unity.
The fate of Millpond Valley and its people lie on you. Thus, do as you can stay. If you do not, you’re life will be in danger. If you lose your color, the color will disappear forever, and you will die.

A the war begins, they draw the colors and attack the Dark-Queen’s army. Everyone starts to get exhausted.

Scene Twenty-Eight
EXT. - AT THE WAR PLACE - DAY
Alfonso Kills the Dark-Queen.

Scene Twenty-Nine
EXT. - AT THE DARK-QUEEN’S CAVE - DAY
They win the war. Queen Elfadine’s army retrieves back the crystal Prism from the Dark-Queen’s cave.

Scene Thirty
EXT. - AT THE PALACE - DAY
There is a ceremony of appointing of Light Holders as Light Keepers. Queen Elfadine appoints them. After that, they are sent to the crystal prism and put their colors in there and the prism spreads the lights to all over the Millpond Valley.

EXT. - IN FRONT OF THE UNICIRN TREE - DAY
There are a lot of new arrivals. Everyone greets them.
-All the people in Millpond Valley, Queen Elfadine

EXT. - IN FRONT OF THE UNICORN TREE - DAY

ARNOLD
Come! There are new arrivals. Lots of them. We can hardly count them- I heard they are the after lives of the banished Humans!

Carlos and Mackenzie follow other people.

MACKENZIE
I wonder if Mom and Dad came too.

CARLOS
Don’t worry. There here somewhere.

There suddenly is a calling of Carlos and Mackenzie. It’s their parent’s voice.

CARLOS
It’s Ma and Pa. See, here they come.

MACKENZIE
Mom! Dad!

CARLOS
Huh? Wait, are my eyes taken aback or is it really Pa who is taken aback?

Mackenzie
That’s interesting. I didn’t know he would ever like this place.

MOM
Oh, my sugars. How I missed you. Where were you?

CARLOS & MACKENZIE
We were…

Carlos glimpses Pa, who seemed pleasant and sorry.

CARLOS
We were here. In this Millpond Valley for the whole time. Do you like it here father?

DAD
What…? Oh, yes. Yes, yes. Certainly. I feel very comfortable.

Carlos looks at him, and he smiles gradually.

CARLOS
Now would you like to go back to the city?

DAD
No. I’m sorry about what I was being so inconsiderate of you son.

CARLOS
No big matter Pa.

Carlos and Dad laugh. They are happy and other humans are too.

Scene Thirty-three
EXT. - IN FRONT OF THE UNICORN TREE & THE VILLAGE - DAY
All the people are greeting, laughing and having good time with other kinds of people. There is a scenery of peaceful Millpond Valley.

Career Reaearch Essay- Interior Designer

Several years ago, I learned that there is a job of designing houses. Ever since then, I have been dreaming of a very special house of myself. This house is my future; this is what I will live by, and no need to say: where I will live in. I was confident of becoming an interior designer before this project. However, I now worry if I could create my house and myself of I was dreaming for. However, I still find this job to be fascinating because it suits my interests and personalities. Thus my interest doesn’t change.

First, I would like to analyze my interests. I have liked art since I was in kindergarten and I am interested in drawings. I am good at tracing pictures and paint them. I am also interested in Korean traditions and think gravely of it. One of my wishes is to acquaint foreign people to see Korea’s beautiful culture and traditions. When I was in the States, I was always resentful to see a lot of foreigners knowing so little about Korea while they knew a lot about other countries. So I wanted Korean culture to be well-known. One day, I thought about my vision that when grow up, I would like to design fusion houses that forms both Korean traditional house and modern styles and applying modern technology so that modern people can live there without feeling uncomfortable. I know that I am not a good designer yet, but it would be great if I become a very successful interior designer who builds fusion Koreans house to live in.

When I tested myself for three letter summary code from John Holland’s Assessment Booklet, I expected my three letter code will relate to art and requires good visual abilities. They are what I am good at, and they are required to interior designers. However, the result was very disappointing. The result was SAI, which’s appropriate occupations were speech pathologist, librarian, dental hygienist and others. None of the SAI occupations in The Occupations Finder seemed to fit me. I had no interest in every one of them, so I decided to ignore it because having a job that I am not interested in is worse than having a job that I like, although it doesn’t fit me.

This test proved that I am not inborn to be skilled in those that relate to interior designing, so I found out that I need to work hard more than any other competitors. I should be diligent, and put all my efforts in what I do. I read a story of a student who was accepted to ten best universities in America. When she was young, she had trouble writing ‘3’ correctly, so she practiced for two hours and she finally learned to write ‘3’ correctly. She had will to success something when ever it was. This is what I should learn from her and work on to take a road to an interior designer. Plus, Bureau of Statistics stated that it would “…take 2 to 4 years to complete”(Interior Designers), and I am sure if I work hard for those several years, I could be successful, which is my highest value.

Second, despite of my lack of ability, I have characteristics that make up for my lack. They suit my career and support me. I had two different four Idealist roles from Please Understand MeⅡ. They were “The Champion (ENFP)” and “The Healer (INFP)”. According to the booklet, “Champions have a wide range and variety of emotions, and a great passion for novelty, and so can become bored rather quickly”(Keirsey6). I knew that I was a true ENFP person when I found myself getting bored very easily and wanting a lot of changes. This relates to my desire to becoming an interior designer because I like to change the atmosphere where I live, and I would like to redecorate houses. From INFP, there was “Healers care deeply― passionately― about a few special persons or a favorite cause”(Keirsey8). I care deeply about pretty houses and wish to make untidy houses pleasant to the residents. When I had an interview with my previous tutor Ms. Kim, who learned interior designing, she said that “Interior designers also design many supplies that goes into the house like furniture, lights, doors, windows”(Kim). I was astonished, but I know I would like to improve my designing skill by also designing supplies that go with houses. Then I want to know how they match with a house and design a pretty house both inside and outside.

To wrap up, I think this job is for me. I do not have enough ability, lack some personalities of interior designers, and hate math. But my hopes and vision are definite that I want to be an interior designer. I know it is a long way to go and is a hard work, but if I think about beautiful houses and good feelings I get from there, it is nothing compared to the hard process I have to pass through.

Writing Goals for 2007

*Goal #1: I will determine and suggest the author's strong points and weak points.

Method: I will read various kinds of books, and think about how I can change or smoothen them. Then, I will imagine how I could write a same, but better story than the author.

*Goal #2: After I read the literature, I will interpret the author's thoughts and suggest better way to myself.

Method: First, I will have to read many literatures like old fiction, recent fiction, and poems. Then I will write my thoughts in to a letter form and pretend to write to the authors about my suggestion.

*Goal #3: I will improve my skill of finding or using precise and descriptive language that will clarify and explain better what I want to say.

Method: I will learn a lot of useful words and practice to pop up directly in my head as I write. I will also shorten the length of a sentence to clarify and help the readers to understand my words easily.

*Goal #4: I won't take time for remembering right spelling of a word.

Method: I will always remember spelling of the word by practicing. Also, I willl be aware of short, but confusing words as well.

*Goal #5: For each of the topic or main idea, I need to pick a good information, and know how to pick proper place to find them.

Method: I will adjoin to news, the Iinternet, opinion articles, debates, and dictionaries to find useful information. But before that, I should exactly know what I want to write about, and think about the information I can get from different researches.
